DIY Recipe of the Week {Chemical Free Home}

What's in your cabinets?

Why am I passionate about getting the yuck out of my home?  Because I don't want to be in constant pain because my Endo is flaring up.  I know, it's pretty selfish, but it's the catalyst for change in my home.  For me, essential oils are another rug on my Healthy Living Ladder.  It's something that I'm choosing to do to help my family.
You can read more about that here

Did you know that 26 seconds after exposure that chemicals are found in measurable amounts in the human body?

Did you know that the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health studied 2,983 ingredients in our products at home—and found 884 toxic ingredients?

We can all use a little help unwinding at night.  I've started a new nighttime routine where I have an alarm set on my phone for 9am, when it goes off I wrap up whatever I am doing and head upstairs to sit in quiet, do my gratitude list for the day, start my diffuser and start to come down from my go-go-go day.  On those extra hectic days where I feel like I'm being torn away from my day at 9pm instead of gladfully celebrating its end (and sleep), I use this stuff to help me drift off to sleep.

Calming Pillow Spray
Small spray bottle
5 drops of Cedarwood Essential Oil
5 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
1 t. rubbing alcohol
Purified (or distilled) water

This is a small batch, I'd recommend using a 1 oz. spray bottle.  You can pick up one of those from your local dollar store or big box store in the travel section of the beauty section.

Pour the 1 t. of rubbing alcohol into the spray bottle
Add 5 drops of Cedarwood Essential Oil
Add 5 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
Fill with purified or distilled water.  (I use purified because it's what I have on hand).
Do a little shake and spray away.

Why It Works
Lavender - helps support a healthy mood and a restful sleep
Cedarwood - has a soothing and calming effect on the mind

...and like that I'm out   zzzzz

*I only uses Young Living Essential Oils for me and my family.
